Almost everything is much cheaper in Spain than in the Netherlands. Think especially of the costs of daily living: groceries, gasoline, and especially eating out are a lot cheaper! Just compare the prices of a drink on a terrace...

Houses in Spain

The houses are also considerably cheaper than what you'd pay for something similar in the Netherlands. And you get the good weather for free! But prices aren't as low as they were a few years ago. With each new project or phase, prices rise. In Spain, too, the costs of energy, labor, and materials factor into the price.

Finding the Gems

But they still exist, those gems! And if they do, we know where to find them for you. Be realistic, though: you can't buy a villa with a pool for less than €320,000 (costs for buyer). And an apartment with a large roof terrace for €180,000 (costs for buyer), those don't exist anymore either. But sometimes they do, if you make some concessions in other areas.

Making Concessions

For example, consider a villa just a little inland... Whether you drive 8 minutes to the beach or 15, does it really make that much difference? Or choose an upstairs apartment with a terrace instead of a penthouse with a roof terrace. Perhaps a private parking space or extra storage isn't so important after all... There are many ways to find your dream home, within your wishes and budget. A 100% match is almost never a perfect match; you'll have to make some compromises.

Financing Considerations

This concession could also mean you choose to finance a (small) portion of the purchase price. This is often wise in any case, if you anticipate needing money in the near future, for example, for another investment.
